Pipeline Vandalism: residents panic over oil spill in Isheri-Ikotun road

Residents of Fagbile Estate, Isheri Ijegun Road, a suburb of Lagos, have fled their homes as a result of a broken petroleum pipe which spilled its content in the area. One of the residents told Newsmen on condition of anonymity, on Thursday in Lagos that she was woken up by the smell of fuel from the broken pipeline. Read more

Police recover 948 arms in Sokoto

The Police Command in Sokoto State said it had recovered 948 guns under the state amnesty programme and police operations in last 24 months.The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Murtala Mani, disclosed this at a news conference in Sokoto on Wednesday, Mani said the recovered and surrendered weapons, included AK47, double and single barrel and locally fabricated guns with 1,200 ammunition. Inject more funds in Maths research, don tells FG

PROFESSOR of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Samuel Iyase, has urged the Federal Government to inject more funds into mathematical research to bridge the technological gap between Nigeria and developed countries.

Nigeria Immigration Service Suspends Two Officers Over Human Trafficking, Discloses Full Identities

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended two of its personnel that were arrested in their attempt to illegally transit six underaged girls out of the country on Thursday through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.  The service through its spokesman, Mr. Sunday James also disclosed that full identities of the culprits. The culprits were identified as Aroyinbo Oluwadare (SII) and Awosanmi Taiwo Gabriel (IA1). Man docked for allegedly sleeping with underage sister-in-law since she was eight

For repeatedly having sex his 16-year-old sister-in-law, a 52-year-old, Olusola Williams, is to cool his heels in prison, an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court ruled on Friday. Olusola is to remain in Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos, for the next 38 days, according to Chief Magistrate Taiwo Akanni, who had refused to take his plea.The accused, a generator repairer, who resides at 19, Water Andem St., Abule-Egba, a suburb of Lagos, is being tried for sexual assault. Man Hacks Wife, Mother Of Four To Death In Enugu

The Police in Enugu State have commenced a full scale investigation into an alleged incident that led to a husband hacking his wife to death in Enugu city. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said in a statement on Friday in Enugu that the incident occurred on March 8. Amaraizu, who did not disclose the location of the incident, said that the deceased, Mrs Nkechi Nnamani, was a mother of four children. Read more

Senate Committee inspects prohibited security gadgets allegedly imported by Kogi Governor
